Delete, archive, move or replace vehicles and GPS devices

Delete vehicle (cancel devices)


  • Export all data, reports and logbooks BEFORE you delete a vehicle!
  • Depending on the contract, in most cases devices are not deleted instantly. Your contract partner receives a delete request and will delete the device at the end of the cancellation period. The device will stay in the software until the contract partner has deleted the device.
  • Caution! By deleting a vehicle, all historic data will also be deleted.
  • If you want to use a device in a few months again, it should be archived instead of deleted. Archived vehicles will not be displayed in the vehicle list but are still in the software.

Vehicles can be deleted in the actions menu in Live Data:

Archive vehicles (vehicle retires, tracking device should be used again)

An archived vehicle keeps its vehicle data for the storage period and the tracking device can be used for another vehicle. Vehicles can be archived in Live Data in the actions menu of the vehicle:

Tracking devices that are disconnected from a vehicle by using the "Archive Asset" option can be reused in other vehicles. The IMEI is available again in the Workshop APP and can be connected to other vehicles (click edit button on desired vehicle and go to Telematic Hardware):


Archived vehicles have an invalid IMEI and are only shown when option "Hide assets out of service" is unticked: 

The tracking hardware and its SIM card stay active after a vehicle has been archived, therefore the contract stays unchanged.

To take the device out of the contract, the IMEI has to be deleted by deleting the (archived) vehicle.

Move tracking hardware (install device in new vehicle)

If a vehicle gets selled and the tracking device is installed on another vehicle, use the option "Move tracking hardware" in the actions menu of the vehicle.

  • The new vehicle has different mileage (has to be set) and a new logbook.
  • The old vehicle gets archived and vehicle data will be available until storage period expires.
  • Archived vehicles can be displayed by unticking Options → Options → Lists → Hide assets out of service.

Replacing tracking device in a vehicle 

To replace a tracking device (e.g. device is broken or newer device with more features) go to vehicle configuration and replace the IMEI & Msisdn numbers with the new one. 

  • If a device is not working anymore, write us an e-mail to remove it from your contract.
  • Make sure that IMEI and mobile (SIM) number are correct!
  • The vehicle can still be used as usual (only the tracking device got replaced).
  • IMEI of the old device is deactivated and cannot be used again.
